Important: Ask yourself a few questions before buying any tickets
- Are you going to Legoland Malaysia on the weekend or a weekday?
- Are you going to Legoland Malaysia on a public or school holiday?
- How long is your Legoland trip? 2D1N, 3D2N, or longer?
- How many kid(s) are on your trip?
- Are you going to stay at Legoland Malaysia Resort or a nearby homestay or hotel?
- Are you going to visit all three themed parks in Legoland?
- Theme Park
- Water Park
- Sea-Life Aquarium
- Do you have your own transport to travel around nearby Legoland Malaysia?
- Will you come to Legoland Malaysia twice within a year?
Day Pass VS Annual Pass?
There are a few places you can buy Legoland tickets, but I would recommend you buy directly from the official website.
Important Note: The pricing options for Malaysian, Singaporean, and international visitors are different. You must click the details to find out the exact promotion and pricing amount.
First things first, don’t expect to have PROMOTIONS or any saving plans during peak seasons.
Lower ticket prices normally happen during weekday and non-holiday periods.
You can click the “Ticket & Passes”
Here is the link: https://www.legoland.com.my/tickets-passes/
You will notice a dropdown menu shows a lot of information; I recommend you read through it one by one, especially for the “Day Tickets & Passes” column, as follows:
Day Tickets:
https://www.legoland.com.my/tickets-passes/day-tickets/
Annual Passes:
https://www.legoland.com.my/tickets-passes/annual-pass/
Reminder: If you only have one day to spend time in a theme park, you won’t have time to fully enjoy Legoland Waterpark.
Buy a combo ticket: theme park + water park if you have 2 days to spend in Legoland.
Make sure you click the “Singapore” resident button to get the right price and promotion.
Make sure you click the “Singaporean Only” tab
Look at the pricing package above. If your Legoland trip is a day trip from Singapore, I recommend you pick a 1-day pass (either 1-Day Waterpark, 1-Day Theme Park + Sea-Life, or 1-Day Theme Park).
Because Legoland Theme Park is huge, you wouldn’t have enough time to ride all the rides and visit all the attractions, especially if you have kids!
For an annual pass, I wouldn’t recommend you buy it unless you return to Legoland Malaysia within a year because the annual pass is only VALID for one year.
Here are the prices:
Stay in Legoland Resort Malaysia or Nearby Hotel/ Homestay
Why is accommodation included in this post?
2 Issues: Time and Money
If you stay in Legoland Malaysia Themed Resort Hotel Room, you will have more time to spend inside the theme park.
Because the theme park is directly connected to the resort, you can access the hotel room whenever your kids feel tired.
Click here to check the details of the themed room type and pricing.
If you are on a tight budget, I recommend you stay homestay near Legoland Malaysia within walking distance.
The homestay, exactly nearby Legoland Malaysia, only costs you RM100–400 per night. (But please don’t expect too much.)
Peak Season VS Non-Peak Season
Why?
- Cheaper Legoland Hotel Room: below RM580
- It’s less crowded in Legoland Theme Park because you don’t have to queue for each ride.
- Avoid traffic jams in Singapore and Malaysia.
- You can choose any hotel or homestay nearby with a lower price.
- It’s easy to book private cars.
- A day trip, or 2D1N, is enough for you.
So now you know what type of tickets or passes you need to buy for your group.
Own Car VS Car Hire VS Public Transport
Own Car – If you drive from Singapore to Legoland Malaysia, then you have more flexibility to choose whether you want to have a day trip here, 2D1N or even 3D2N.
Since you have your own car, you can decide the trip schedule, it will affect how you choose your tickets / passes option, and you have more flexibility to choose a nearby hotel or homestay in Iskandar Johor.
Car Hire – You can hire a car to transfer you from Singapore to Legoland in two ways. So the best option for you is to stay at Legoland Malaysia (make sure the rooms are available).
If a day trip is practical for you, make sure you depart from Singapore early in the morning and expect traffic jams at checkpoints in Singapore and Malaysia.
2D1N would be the best for you. The first day, water park + sealife. The second day, the water park half day.
Public Transport – Is not recommended unless you travel alone. Taking public transport via MRT or Bus to Legoland Malaysia wastes much of your time waiting for the bus or MRT.
Not to mention, it’s very tiring to cross the border or checkpoint between Singapore and Malaysia.
Final Thoughts:
Don’t expect significant “promotion” if your trip falls on weekends or holidays.
Decide on your trip’s draught schedule and tentative itinerary so you can make all reservations before it is fully booked.
Buy your tickets or passes after you have decided how many days you want to stay at Legoland Resort or nearby 5-Star Hotels.
Because Legoland tickets and passes are always available, you can buy them after you have booked your accommodation and private car service directly from Singapore’s doorstep to Legoland Malaysia’s Entrance.
Last but not least, Legoland Resort Hotel rooms are limited; you have to make reservations as soon as possible.
If your trips fall during the peak season, make sure you have booked your private car service 1-2 weeks in advance.
